Castles and taste of wines ride & 5th Equestrian National Festival 2009 Date: 20-25 June 2009 7 days, 6 nights, 4 riding days (4-5 hours riding per day) The trail ride heads to the 5th Equestrian National Festival hosted by Zánka located at lake Balaton, we kindly ask you to inform us about your participation will due to accommodation booking. The region of Balaton Highlands touches visitors not only with its sights, but also with its beauty, romance, colours changing in every season and atmosphere. Sloping areas, steep hills, gently and narrow valleys and higher plateaus follow one another. Day 1 Arriving to Pápa, dinner will be served during the evening.  Accommodation at the riding lodge. Day 2 After breakfast riding from Pápa to Somló. Road goes in forest ways and near fields. Somló hill that gives the best vine of the area. According to a legend Somló wine is “the wine of wedding nights”, and if a couple wants to get a son firstly, they should drink one of the Somló wine.  It looks as if vine grew right from the basalt rocks in many places so the mineral quality of wines is even more pronounced than in other regions around Balaton. This is why anyone ever tasting Somló wines will always recognise it will never mistake it for another one. We will stop for break to enjoy our picnic lunch. Dinner and accommodation at Somlószőlős Matthias Riding Lodge. During the wine tasting we get acquainted with  the vineyard's famous wines. Enjoy the beautiful view to Somló, to the fortress. Day 3 After breakfast riding from Somló to Sümeg, picnic lunch will be served during the trail ride. Sümeg is a small city located in the southwestern part of the Bakony hills, 30 km from Lake Balaton. Its main attraction is the monumental castle built in the 13th century, and located in the hill of the town. Dinner and accommodation at the Kapitány Hotel and Pension in Sümeg. On request visit of the castle.  Day 4 After breakfast riding from Sümeg to Diszel with lunch breake in-between. During the ride we will have a wonderful view to the hills of Lake Balaton. From the riding inn you can see the fortress of Csobánc. Dinner and accommodation at Villám Riding Inn. Day 6 After breakfast riding to Zánka, picnic lunch will be served during the way. Dinner and accommodation in Zánka. Day 7 In the last day attendance in the 5th Equestrian National Festival hosted by Zánka. This initerary is flexible, changes may occur due to weather or other unforessen circumstances.
